a cooler La Niña year lead to a lighter bodied yet still complex wine:
Inspired by the witches’ chant from Macbeth — because this is a ye olde masterpiece.
Scene: Warrumbungle Wines.
At centre stage, a cauldron… sorry, a fermenter.
Winemaker (chanting):
Thrice the wines hath blended,
Gareth cries Merlot, Shiraz, and Petit Verdot.
Herbal notes about the nose do go,
In the amica thrown (not literally!).
Chocolate lies beneath raisin dark,
Artichoke lifts the palate, fresh and stark.
Eye an incarnadine pleasure find,
Food match trouble? None comes to mind.

Estate grown, long aged, bottled trouble.
